4th Sunday (Even Months)- Civilian Battle Rifle - Contact: Ed Rice 458-9146

Targets are a human sized paper silhouette.
Course of fire:
 • 10 shots lying down in 90 seconds from 200 yds
 • 10 shots kneeling/sitting in 90 seconds at 120 yds
 • 10 shots standing in 90 seconds at 80 yds
Rifles used can be any rifle scoped or iron sights that you may use in case of an invasion by foreign powers to protect yourself/country.

This is a short (thirty rounds) match that tests the shooter's skill more than the rifle/ammo capabilities. Each stage, by the way requires a magazine change somewhere within the 10 round course of fire. This match emphasizes the ability to maintain a sustained rate of accurate fire rather than single shots to to target. Use of a sling is allowed, and makes shooting easier.

1st Sunday- Black Powder Cartridge Silhouette Match - Contact: Ken Gose 455-0577

Full sized steel chickens, pigs, turkeys, and rams are shot at 200 to 500 meters. Rifles are copies of original black powder cartridge rifles (ie 45-70).

This is the black powder adaptation of standard Metallic Silhouette matches. Equipment outlay will be fairly high, including a suitable rifle, sights, spotting scope, and shooting sticks. Handloading is a requirement for this match, as suitable ammunition is not available for retail sales. The match is time intensive also, since a considerable amount of time is needed to develop an accurate load. Because of lot-to-lot variations in black powder, it will be necessary to buy powder in 25 pound case lots to insure consistency in the handloaded ammunition.

3rd Sunday- Buffalo Match - Contact: Greg Cameron 803-0607

This is a steel match, targets are 5"x7" buffalo silhouettes shot at 200 meters with .22 rimfire rifles. Some special rifle/sight setup is necessary due to the extended range (for .22's), and ability to judge wind is absolutely necessary. The match is a team event, one shooter and one spotter, and consists of 20 to 40 rounds for score with time available for practice during the course of fire. New shooters will usually be teamed up with an experienced spotter, who will coach and explain the match as shooting progresses.

3rd Friday- Military Benchrest Rifle/Pistol Match - Contact: Tom Stewart 459-1992

This is a benchrest match, fired at paper targets at 100 yards. Equipment restrictions are stringent, requiring unaltered military surplus rifles/pistols with original sights. Reloaded ammunition is allowed.

Exact course of fire not available at time of publication. Approximatated as: Multiple 10-round strings with scoring and pasting the targets between strings.
